Online dating is an evergreen business and has been around since the time Internet was born. There are hundreds and thousands of online dating sites but have you ever given a thought on how many people actually use these Dating sites ? What are the age groups who are attracted towards online dating forums and portals and which people spend maximum time finding their love partners online ?

A new study conducted by the University of Oxford tells that one in every three people who use the internet have visited or registered to an online dating portal, in order to find love partners.

The survey was conducted among 24,000 men and women who spend a considerable amount of time online. The surprise is that only 6% of the people used online dating between 1997 to 2009, while the number increased to as big as 30% by the end of 2010.

Nearly one in three people who use the internet have visited online dating sites to find love, according to a study conducted by the University of Oxford.

Over all the age groups, middle aged men and women were most attracted to wards online dating portals (unlike teenagers). The research was conducted among 12,000 couples from 18 countries and 36 % of the surveyors revealed that they have found their partner through an online dating site.
